TERRITORY

Umbria, called "the green heart of Italy" is the second smallest region in our country.
It is an ideal destination to spend holidays in contact with nature in an area rich in history.
The Umbrian countryside is rich in archaeological remains.
Hills, valleys and ancient villages make Umbria an enchanted region.

TOURISM

Apart from visiting the capital Perugia and its historic centre, which stands on a hill and can be reached by lifts from the lower town, there are many other villages to visit in Umbria.
Assisi, religious centre and birthplace of St. Francis. Destination of numerous pilgrimages.
Gubbio, the village linked to the sight of St. Francis and known for the limestone blocks of its buildings
Todi, which rises elegantly on a hill in the Tiber valley. Birthplace of the poet Jacopone.
Spello, whose alleyways and churches preserve the signs of its long history: Roman, Lombard, popes and lords.
Also known for its nature reserves, including the parks of Colfiorito and Lake Trasimeno.
Umbria also offers the possibility of numerous ecological experiences in the Trasimeno and Piediluco lakes as well as excursions along archaeological and botanical paths.

GASTRONOMY

A simple cuisine based mainly on the products of the land and meat.
Umbria is particularly famous for its salami and sausages from Norcia, truffles and extra-virgin olive oil.
A typical dish is strangozzi, a pasta similar to tagliatelle cooked with meat sauce or truffle.
Among the desserts to be tasted are rocciata and pampepato.
